What Our Laminate Installation Includes

We measure the project, check the existing floor and confirm the required transitions and trim. Before laying the new laminate, the crew checks that the subfloor is dry, clean, secure and flat enough for the selected product. We install the approved underlayment when the flooring does not include an attached pad, assemble the click system, maintain the required perimeter space and finish doorways with suitable transitions.

The $2.00 starting rate covers standard laminate installation. Removal, levelling, repairs, stairs, baseboards, furniture moving and complex layouts can affect the final quote.

Removing the Old Floor and Preparing the Room

We can remove carpet, laminate, vinyl or another existing floor when that work is included in your quote. Once the surface is exposed, we look for loose panels, squeaks, high spots, low areas and signs of moisture. These issues need attention before a floating laminate floor is installed.

  • Clear small furniture and fragile items from the rooms.
  • Empty closet floors and remove items stored near the work area.
  • Discuss appliances and heavy furniture with us before installation day.
  • Keep the work path clear from the entrance to the installation area.

Choosing a Laminate Colour

Compare samples beside your cabinets, stairs and paint colours. Pale oak and natural beige tones can brighten a smaller room. Medium browns hide everyday dust and work with many furniture styles. Grey and greige floors suit cooler paint palettes, while warmer colours pair well with cream, beige and wood cabinetry.

Laminate Installation Tips

  • Follow the product’s acclimation instructions. Requirements differ by manufacturer.
  • Do not block a floating floor with permanent cabinets or fixed islands unless the product permits it.
  • Use the expansion space specified by the manufacturer around walls, posts and transitions.
  • Wipe spills promptly and follow the warranty limits, even when the collection has water protection.
  • Order enough material for cuts and keep a spare box from the same production lot.
