Welcome to Home Design Flooring Inc. These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of homedesignflooringinc.ca and to purchases of flooring materials, related products, installation services, and other services from Home Design Flooring Inc.

By submitting an order, requesting a quote, booking a service, or using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Company Information

Home Design Flooring Inc. is an Ontario flooring retailer and installation service provider serving Vaughan, the Greater Toronto Area, and surrounding communities.

2. Product Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications, colours, dimensions, thicknesses, prices, and availability are accurate.

Flooring is manufactured in different production runs and dye lots. Natural wood, engineered hardwood, laminate, vinyl plank, and porcelain tile may show variations in colour, grain, texture, shade, pattern, finish, or dimensions. Website images and screen settings may not accurately represent the final appearance of a product.

Customers are encouraged to visit our showroom and inspect a physical sample before ordering whenever colour, shade, grain, or texture is important. Product specifications and manufacturer instructions take priority over general information displayed on the website.

3. Measurements and Flooring Quantities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate room measurements unless Home Design Flooring Inc. has completed or approved the measurements in writing.

Flooring is sold by square foot, box, piece, or other unit specified on the product page or invoice. Some products must be ordered in full boxes, and the final quantity may be rounded up to the nearest full box.

We generally recommend ordering an additional 8% to 10% for cutting, waste, installation patterns, and future repairs. Certain layouts, diagonal installations, herringbone patterns, stairs, or irregular rooms may require additional material.

Home Design Flooring Inc. is not responsible for material shortages caused by incorrect customer measurements, insufficient waste allowance, installation errors by others, or changes to the project after the order is placed.

4. Prices and Taxes

All prices are displayed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices may be shown per square foot, per linear foot, per box, per piece, or per service, as identified on the product page, quotation, invoice, or order confirmation.

Applicable taxes, including Ontario HST, are added to the order total. Prices, promotions, and special offers may change without notice. If a product is listed with an incorrect price due to a technical, typographical, supplier, or data-entry error, Home Design Flooring Inc. may correct the price before accepting the order. The customer may accept the corrected price or cancel the affected item for a full refund of any amount already paid for that item.

5. Online Orders and Order Acceptance

Submitting an order through the website is a request to purchase and does not automatically guarantee acceptance, availability, or reservation of the product.

An order is accepted after Home Design Flooring Inc. confirms the product, quantity, price, stock availability, payment arrangements, and, where applicable, pickup, delivery, or installation details. We may contact the customer if the product or quantity is unavailable, the price requires correction, additional information is needed, or the quantity must be adjusted to full-box quantities.

6. Payment

Available payment methods may include debit or credit card payment at our showroom, e-transfer using payment instructions confirmed directly by Home Design Flooring Inc., or another payment method expressly approved by us in writing.

Payment at delivery is not available. Customers should not send an e-transfer until the product, total amount, recipient information, and payment instructions have been confirmed by Home Design Flooring Inc. An order may not be released, scheduled, delivered, or installed until the required payment or deposit has been received and cleared.

7. Product Availability and Stock Confirmation

Website inventory may not reflect real-time showroom or supplier stock. All products are subject to availability and final stock confirmation. Adding a product to the cart does not reserve it. Products may be discontinued or temporarily unavailable without notice.

8. Pickup and Delivery

Pickup and delivery dates are estimates unless guaranteed in writing. Delays may occur because of supplier availability, weather, transportation, building access, customer readiness, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Customers must inspect products at pickup or delivery and promptly report visible shortages or damage. Any delivery service, delivery charge, free-delivery promotion, or delivery included with installation applies only when confirmed in the customer’s written quotation or order confirmation. There is no payment-on-delivery option.

9. Returns and Exchanges

Stock flooring products may be eligible for a full refund within 14 calendar days of pickup or delivery, provided that:

  • The return is limited to a maximum of four (4) unopened boxes per order.
  • The customer provides the original receipt or invoice.
  • The products are unused, undamaged, and in resalable condition.
  • All boxes remain unopened and in their original packaging.
  • The products have not been installed, cut, modified, stained, glued, nailed, or otherwise altered.
  • The products are regular in-stock items and are from a current, returnable production lot.

Approved eligible returns will receive a full refund for the returned product amount. Delivery charges, installation charges, special-order charges, and other completed service charges are not refundable. The customer is responsible for returning products to the location specified by Home Design Flooring Inc. All returns are subject to inspection and approval before a refund is issued.

The following items are final sale unless defective or otherwise required by applicable law: special-order products; custom products; clearance, discontinued, liquidation, or final-sale products; more than four boxes from the same order; opened boxes; installed, cut, modified, or damaged materials; opened or used adhesives, grout, mortar, underlayment, transitions, trims, or accessories; products affected by improper handling, storage, moisture, temperature, or site conditions after pickup or delivery; installation labour; and completed services.

A difference in natural grain, shade, texture, pattern, or colour that is normal for the product is not considered a defect. Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Ontario law.

10. Order Cancellations

Regular stocked-product orders may be cancelled before the product has been prepared, transferred, picked up, delivered, or installed, subject to our written approval. Special orders, custom orders, clearance products, and products transferred or ordered specifically for the customer may not be cancelled after they have been confirmed with the supplier.

11. Installation Estimates and Quotations

Prices displayed by the Instant Quote Calculator, website, advertisements, or promotional materials are estimates only unless confirmed in a written quotation. Published installation rates generally apply to qualifying projects of 500 square feet or more. Projects under 500 square feet require a custom quotation.

A final installation price may depend on verified measurements, flooring type and installation method, subfloor condition, moisture levels, furniture moving, removal and disposal of existing flooring, baseboard and trim work, stairs, railings, posts, spindles, accessories, building access, condominium requirements, and additional work discovered during preparation or installation.

12. Site Conditions and Customer Responsibilities

Before installation, the customer must provide safe and reasonable access, electricity, lighting, heating, required approvals, and a cleared work area. Customers must disclose known moisture, plumbing, structural, asbestos, mould, or subfloor concerns and arrange required parking, elevator access, loading access, or permits.

Furniture moving is not included unless shown as a separate service on the quotation or invoice. Home Design Flooring Inc. may stop or postpone work if the site is unsafe, inaccessible, not ready, or unsuitable for installation.

13. Subfloor and Hidden Conditions

Flooring installation requires a suitable, clean, dry, structurally sound, and reasonably level subfloor. Conditions hidden before removal of existing flooring, including moisture, mould, asbestos, damaged concrete, loose plywood, uneven surfaces, plumbing problems, structural defects, or previous installation materials, may require additional work and charges.

We will explain material additional work and obtain the customer’s approval before proceeding whenever reasonably possible. Home Design Flooring Inc. is not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by undisclosed or concealed conditions.

14. Installation Scheduling

Installation dates are scheduled after required materials and payments have been confirmed. Scheduled dates may change because of material delays, weather, illness, unsafe conditions, customer-requested changes, building restrictions, or events outside our reasonable control. Additional charges may apply if installers arrive and the site is not accessible, safe, cleared, or ready for work.

15. Manufacturer Warranties

Flooring products may include a manufacturer’s limited warranty. Warranty terms, duration, exclusions, installation requirements, maintenance instructions, and claim procedures are determined by the manufacturer. Customers must follow manufacturer instructions relating to installation, acclimation, subfloor preparation, moisture testing, cleaning, humidity, maintenance, and approved accessories.

16. One-Year Labour Warranty

Installation services performed by Home Design Flooring Inc. include a one-year limited labour warranty beginning on the installation completion date. This warranty covers verified installation workmanship defects. Our responsibility is limited to inspecting and correcting the affected installation work within a reasonable period.

The labour warranty does not cover manufacturing or product defects; normal wear; scratches; dents; fading; discolouration; moisture; leaks; flooding; improper environmental conditions; subfloor or structural movement; customer misuse; pets; furniture; appliances; improper cleaning; work altered by another person; customer-supplied materials; or failure to follow maintenance and manufacturer requirements.

17. Changes Requested During Installation

Changes to the flooring, layout, direction, pattern, materials, preparation, trim, stairs, room scope, or other work after installation has been scheduled or started may change the price and completion date. Additional work will be documented and approved by the customer before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.

18. Website Use

The website and its content are provided for general information, shopping, quotation requests, and communication with Home Design Flooring Inc. Users must not use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, interfere with its security or operation, or copy and misuse website content, images, logos, product information, or branding without permission.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Home Design Flooring Inc. will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from website use, installation delays, unavailable products, incorrect customer measurements, undisclosed site conditions, or events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

20. Privacy

Personal information submitted through the website, checkout, contact forms, quote requests, or other communications will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy requirements. Customers agree that we may contact them regarding orders, quotations, stock confirmation, installation, payment arrangements, warranty matters, and customer-service requests.

21. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.

22. Changes to These Terms

Home Design Flooring Inc. may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version applying to an order is the version available when the order is submitted, unless a different written agreement applies.
